Chief Information Technology Officer
Jarmo Eskelinen is CITO at Future Cities Catapult.
Jarmo was the CEO of Forum Virium Helsinki, the innovation lab of the City of Helsinki, Finland, from 2006 to 2016. Prior to that, he’s been the executive director of the Media Centre Lume of the Aalto University and program director of the Helsinki 2000 European Capital of Culture. Jarmo was also an entrepreneur in a successful concert promotion company in the 90’s. Originally trained as an architect, he is an expert in smart cities.
Jarmo is a council member and former president of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), a vice-chair of the international Open & Agile Smart Cities network, and regularly advises the European Commission and other policy makers in (smart) city related issues.
Chief Executive Officer
Peter Madden OBE
Peter Madden OBE is Chief Executive of Future Cities Catapult.
Previously, Peter was Chief Executive of Forum for the Future, Head of Policy at the Environment Agency, Ministerial Adviser to the British Government, Director of Green Alliance and Head of Policy at Christian Aid.
He is currently Board Counsellor to the Crown Estate, a member of Ingersoll Rand’s Advisory Council, and a member of both the Smart London Board and the UK Government Smart Cities Forum. He received an OBE for services to sustainable development.
Chief Business Officer
Scott Cain is Chief Business Officer of Future Cities Catapult.
Scott developed the Technology Strategy Board’s investment case and led the £34.5m Future Cities Demonstrator programme. Prior to that Scott co-founded and chaired Global Entrepreneurship Week and was CEO at Enterprise UK. Scott is also the founding partner of The Long Run Venture.
Urban Design and Planning Lead
Euan Mills is an Urban Designer with 16 years’ experience working in the built environment industry.
He joined Future Cities Catapult as their Urban Design and Planning Lead and has been leading their Future of Planning programme. Before this he spent 6 years providing design advice to the Mayor of London and his planning team, and contributed towards a number of key planning policy and research documents. Before this he worked at Urban Initiatives developing master plans and regeneration strategies for public and private sector. He also set up the Chatsworth Road Neighbourhood Forum and Traders and Residents Association.
