The United Nations predicts that by 2050, 68% of the world’s population will live in cities. We want to share ideas and innovations that apply everywhere; from developing cities, to the biggest urban centres in the world.
Cityx began with a Future Cities Expo in Summer 2018. At the event, we brought together innovative UK businesses, academics and city leaders to discuss new solutions for the problems we’re facing in our urban centres:
Cityx is designed to help UK innovators create new services and products for cities and then take them to the world. It brings together some of the best ideas and prototypes that we’ve worked on with companies, local authorities and academic institutions. We hope they will help everyone to learn, collaborate and improve our built environment.
We invite you to use and develop these ideas or get in touch with us to make urban spaces and the cities of the future better places for everyone to live in.
Visualising the impact of future developments on our urban landscape is possible via a Catapult collaboration. Businesses can use the Igloo Cylinder or work with us on other virtual reality ideas that create growth opportunities for UK companies.
