Future Cities Catapult has been recognised by Huawei’s UK Smart Cities Index 2017.
The Index, produced by global independent research company Navigant, highlights the key developments elevating the UK’s smart capabilities and identifies lessons to be learnt from the most successful early adopters. It also provides an assessment of the overall progress of UK cities in their exploitation of smart technologies.
In the report, Future Cities Catapult received the ‘Star Award’ for our innovation work as a city partner. The award “reflects a particularly impressive range of innovations tied to a coherent strategy for further development.”
Highlighted in Huawei’s reasoning is Future Cities Catapult’s involvement as an important catalyst for smart city innovation, including our work on Smart Planning projects, the Cities Standards Institute and programme support for cities such as Belfast and Aberdeen.
