What will you be doing?Working as part of our Urban Innovation Centre (UIC) Venue Team, this role will be responsible for leading our Events Team and managing the UIC Events Venue. Integral to this role is establishing and implementing strategies that maximise events revenue and profitability of events held at our venue.
Key Responsibilities• Demonstrable experience in running a successful and profitable events venue, including programming events; building and selling event packages; managing event logistics and working with clients to ensure success. • You will be responsible for maximising the sales and profitability of the events spaces, raising the profile of the UIC as a first-class venue and reporting on usage, experience and income to help steer and drive the business. • Planning and delivering a Programme of Events at the UIC that projects our position as a world class business hub and showcases our commercial events, projects and the work we produce. The Programme of Events will also deliver an experience that encourages interest from external parties for collaboration and hire of the venue. This includes writing presentations, producing schedules and itineraries for successful event delivery. • Leading, motivating and managing two Event Coordinators and working closely and collaboratively with the Facilities and IT Teams to meet targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
Skills & ExperienceStrong business events and venue management experience, of at least 5 years, demonstrating a track record of having independently organised conferences and events.Team management experienceFinancial and commercial experience including maximising sales and profitability, managing budgets and supplier contract management. Use and management of event booking systems and social media platforms to support the business strategy.
Role SpecificsThe delivery of a successful programme of events may require some occasional evening or weekend work, in line with operational needs.
